The voice broadcast playbook for D2C brands
COD confirmations, delivery updates and win-back campaigns — how to run voice broadcasts that customers actually welcome.
Voice broadcast has a bad reputation because most brands use it like spam. Used well, it is the highest-attention channel you own — a real voice, in the customer's language, at a moment that matters.
Start with COD confirmation. An automated call within five minutes of order placement, asking the customer to press 1 to confirm, routinely cuts RTO rates by 25–40%.
Second, delivery-day updates. A short morning call telling the customer their order arrives today reduces failed deliveries and support tickets simultaneously.
Third, win-back campaigns. A warm AI-voiced message referencing the customer's last purchase outperforms the same message sent as SMS by a wide margin, because voice carries tone.
Keep every broadcast under 30 seconds, always offer a keypress action, honour opt-outs instantly, and schedule within daytime hours. Measure listens and callbacks — not just deliveries — and iterate weekly.
